More funding for Idaho veterans homes

For July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, the law funds Idaho veterans homes with $963,600 total. It provides $743,600 from the Veterans Home Endowment Income Fund: $124,800 for operating costs and $618,800 for capital projects. It also provides $220,000 from the Federal Grant Fund for capital outlay. The money must be used in that year and only for those expense types.

Cut to veterans grant operations

The law reduces operating money from the Federal Grant Fund by $51,000 for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. This lowers operating funds for veterans services that use that grant source during the year.

Carryover funds for Boise and Lewiston homes

Any unspent FY 2026 Federal Grant Fund money is re-used in FY 2027. It must pay for one-time work to replace the Boise state veterans home and to renovate the Lewiston home. The State Controller confirms the amounts with the Legislative Services Office before the money is used.
