The law provides $2,724,200 to the Idaho Department of Lands for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The Department must send $145,000 from the Department of Lands Fund to the Idaho Geological Survey. These funds are only available for that year.
The Department of Lands can move unlimited funds into the Forest and Range Fire Protection Program. This applies to money appropriated for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 and for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The usual transfer cap does not apply in those years.

It includes $124,900 from the General Fund for Forest and Range Fire Protection and $160,000 from the Navigable Waterways Fund for Minerals, Public Trust, Oil and Gas. It also cuts $160,000 from the Department of Lands Fund for personnel costs in the Minerals, Public Trust, Oil and Gas Program. These changes only apply to that fiscal year.
