Idaho shifts funds to high-needs students

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law provides $5 million for Idaho’s Division of Student Support through June 30, 2027. This spending comes from, and is counted against, the Idaho High Needs Student Fund. The State Controller must transfer $1 million from the Idaho Career Ready Students Program Fund and $4 million from the Driver Training Account into that fund. These transfers must happen as soon as practical during that period, reducing money in both source funds. The law does not set a direct payment amount for households.
