Illinois assisted living must report serious incidents

Illinois assisted living and shared housing homes must report serious incidents to the Illinois Department of Public Health. They must report any incident that causes significant physical harm or injury, or leads to outside emergency medical care. They do not report changes caused only by a resident’s health or medical decline. This applies to homes licensed under the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act. The law does not set a reporting deadline or penalties.
