Laser hair removal covered when medically needed

Beginning January 1, 2027, health plans issued, delivered, amended, or renewed after that date cover laser hair removal when your doctor prescribes it as medically necessary. The rule applies to individual and group policies, HMOs, and many state, county, and city employee plans. Coverage must follow generally accepted medical standards. This can save you thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs.
