Retiring Gaming Board officers keep ID

Sworn Illinois Gaming Board officers who retire in good standing keep their Board ID stamped "RETIRED" or get a new photo ID showing past service. If the card is lost or stolen, the Board reissues a replacement right away after a written request.

Retiring investigators can buy badge/gun

The law authorizes a Board program that lets Board‑sworn investigators who retire honorably buy any badge the Board issued to them. With a current Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card, they may also buy their issued service firearm. Any kept or purchased badge is permanently marked so it is not mistaken for an active officer’s badge. The price for a service firearm is its replacement value, not fair market value.
