To get or renew this plate, you must consent to share your motor vehicle record data. The division may share your name, address, royalty payment amount, plate number, and vehicle type with Hunter Nation, Inc. and the state treasurer. This consent is required at issuance and every renewal beginning January 1, 2026.
Beginning January 1, 2026, Kansas residents who own or lease a car or small truck (20,000 pounds or less) can get a Hunter Nation plate for each vehicle. You pay the normal registration fee plus a logo royalty set by Hunter Nation, Inc. between $25 and $100 per plate, paid to the county treasurer. Apply at least 60 days before your renewal using the state form and pay the royalty when you apply. Renew each year. You must pay the regular fee and the annual royalty; otherwise you cannot renew and must return the plate. The plate does not transfer to another person, but the director may let you move it from a leased car to a purchased one. County treasurers send collected royalties each month to Hunter Nation Foundation, Inc.
