The law authorizes the Kansas State Historical Society to acquire the junior officers' quarters at Fort Dodge in Ford County. The parcel is about 7,640 square feet. The Attorney General must approve the deed and confirm fee simple title before acceptance. Title is taken in the name of the State of Kansas. After acquisition, the Society manages it as a historic landmark and may set rules for use and upkeep. The law takes effect upon publication in the statute book.
