Licensed insurance agents and public adjusters must answer the insurance commissioner within 15 business days. If the inquiry is about a complaint under K.S.A. 40-2404 or a particular matter, they must answer within 14 calendar days. If an agent does not respond on time, the commissioner can deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew the agent’s license. If a public adjuster does not respond on time, the commissioner can suspend, revoke, or refuse to issue or renew the adjuster’s license.
