Starting January 1, 2026, the district has a three-member board. The Clearwater mayor and the Ninnescah township trustee hold two seats. The at-large seat is chosen by the board at its next meeting after the reorganization resolution. That person must live in Clearwater or Ninnescah and represents the whole district. Voters elect the at-large seat on a nonpartisan ballot at the 2026 general election and every four years after.
The law removes Ohio Township from the Clearwater cemetery district on January 1, 2026. If you live in Ohio Township, you are no longer in the district, and its taxes and rules stop applying to you then. If you live in the remaining district, services or tax shares can change when the boundary changes. Ohio Township and the district may agree to share future cemetery care and existing tax funds. The district board adopts this change by majority vote through a resolution.
