Licensing exemption for plasma screening centers

Louisiana exempts source plasma donation centers from clinical laboratory personnel licensing requirements when they perform only nondiagnostic donor-screening tests. Source plasma means the fluid part of human blood collected through plasmapheresis for further manufacturing. This definition excludes single-donor plasma products intended for intravenous use. The exemption does not remove licensing requirements for other clinical laboratory services or create direct household payments.
