Beginning July 1, 2025, the law creates a 21-member task force on first responder mental health and suicide prevention. It covers police, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, Mississippi National Guard members, and emergency medical services workers. The group must gather input and recommend ways to prevent and treat post-traumatic stress disorder and reduce stigma. Its plans must address affordable, accessible care, partnerships, oversight, and lasting funding. Appointments are required within 30 days after July 1, 2025, with organization within 15 days after appointments. Members serve without pay, and the group must meet at least monthly. Findings, recommendations, proposed laws, and funding needs are due before December 1, 2025; the group ends that day. The law itself provides no new services, payments, or funding.
