University of North Dakota golf endowment from sale

If the Ray Richards golf course property is sold, 53.57% of the sale price goes into a permanent Ray Richards golf endowment fund. The University of North Dakota Alumni Foundation runs the fund for the sole benefit of the University of North Dakota men’s varsity golf program. If the men’s program ended before the sale, the fund must first pay to reinstate it. Any money left must improve the Ray Richards course or directly benefit the University of North Dakota men’s and women’s varsity golf programs. The fund honors the Ray Richards family.

Up to $4 million for Ray Richards upgrades

The law provides up to $4,000,000 to the University of North Dakota for capital improvements to the Ray Richards golf course. The money comes from sale proceeds, donations, and other local funds. Funds are available immediately and end on June 30, 2027.
