Faster removal of dangerous fireworks from stores

The law repeals the permissible fireworks advisory committee. The commissioner can suspend or order removal from retail sale of any permissible firework that poses an imminent threat to life and property. The commissioner may act at any time after a written or formal recommendation from the state fire marshal or the director of state police. No notice to an advisory committee is required. These changes take effect 60 days after the law’s passage.
