Fundraising and state fund for council
The council can raise money through solicitations and events and accept gifts, grants, and bequests from people, companies, foundations, and government. The law creates the New Hampshire–Greece Trade Council Fund in the state treasury. Money in the fund does not lapse and is continually appropriated to the council. It pays administrative costs and supports the council’s work. State accounting rules now list deposits to this fund as a dedicated receipt. These changes take effect 60 days after passage.
New council to boost NH–Greece trade
The law creates the New Hampshire–Greece Trade Council inside the Department of Business and Economic Affairs, with the Secretary of State. It promotes trade and investment, joint policy work, and business and academic exchanges with Greece. Members include two senators and two representatives. Also the DBEA commissioner and the Secretary of State (or designees), an industry representative, a division of economic development representative, a university system representative, and two public members named by the Governor. The council elects a chair who calls meetings and may meet with Greek trade councils. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
