More eating disorder help for students

Beginning April 1, 2026, New Jersey authorizes eating disorder services through its Statewide Student Support Services program for K–12 students. Its 15 regional hubs must assess local needs and whether students receive services, working with their advisory groups. Based on those findings, hubs must set rules for awareness, prevention, and referrals to counseling or treatment as appropriate. Rules must cover assigning providers and offering help through three levels: broad support, small-group help, and brief individual care. The Department of Children and Families must adopt rules to carry out the law.
