Recovery grants reopen for Sandy-hit homeowners

Beginning January 20, 2026, New Jersey’s Department of Community Affairs must restart its Sandy homeowner recovery grant program. Restarting the program and issuing grants depend on enough funds remaining that are not already committed. Eligible Superstorm Sandy-impacted homeowners who still need recovery or rebuilding help can apply. The eligibility rules from the 2015 law remain unchanged. The law adds no funding and sets no grant amounts.
