For city special assessing units in fiscal year 2027, the city must set each class’s increase in its tax share. The increase cannot be more than 5%. The city must make this decision by December 1, 2026. If FY2027 tax bills went out before this law, the city revises the proportions, resets rates, and sends amended bills. Any payment that was due before the amended bill is sent still counts under the old bill. Your final bill may go up or down after the revision, but the 5% cap limits how fast a class’s share can rise.
