The law expands who counts as a victim of a sexual offense under state law. It includes victims of offenses under Penal Law article 130 and sections 245.15, 255.25, 255.26, and 255.27. It also includes people threatened with or targeted by attempts to commit those offenses. The law takes effect immediately.
