Insured pay max $100 for epinephrine injectors

The law requires individual, group or blanket, and health service corporation plans with major medical and drug coverage to cover medically necessary epinephrine auto-injectors for emergencies. Your total out-of-pocket cost for these devices is capped at $100 per year. Plans may still use deductibles and coinsurance, but the cap limits what you pay each year. In HSA-qualified high-deductible plans, the cap applies after you meet the federal minimum deductible; if federal rules treat the device as preventive care, it applies even before. Plans no longer must cover a set minimum number of injectors.
