More Oklahoma students qualify for tuition help

Beginning November 1, 2025, the Oklahoma Tuition Equalization Grant counts only taxable parental income toward its $50,000 yearly limit. Excluding nontaxable parental income lets more students qualify. Students must be Oklahoma residents and full-time undergraduates at eligible schools. For independent, self-supporting students, the State Regents use the student's income under federal financial aid rules. Grants provide $2,000 per academic year, or $1,000 per semester, with no summer or intersession awards. Students must pay at least their school's regular tuition, and more tuition than at a comparable public school.

Tuition grants add colleges, drop others

Beginning November 1, 2025, Family of Faith College and Randall University join Oklahoma's Tuition Equalization Grant school list. Bacone College and St. Gregory's University leave the list, ending grant access through those schools. Eligible schools must be private nonprofit colleges or universities based in Oklahoma and meet State Regents program standards. They must have full accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission or a national accreditor recognized by the U.S. Education Department. Both the IRS and U.S. Education Department must have granted nonprofit status before July 1, 2012. Schools must follow the State Regents' complaint process and are subject to review and action on complaints.
