Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma public bodies must limit attendance at closed sessions about proposed real estate deals. Landowners, real estate salespeople, brokers, developers, and others who may profit directly or indirectly cannot attend or participate. An exception allows participation under an existing agreement to represent the public body. This rule does not create a direct household payment or benefit.
Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma public bodies may discuss more real estate matters in closed sessions. These include property sales, purchases, leases, acquisitions, and appraisals by the public body. The public cannot observe these closed-door discussions. The law does not create a direct household payment or benefit.
