Stalking victims eligible, but aid limited

The law adds stalking to the list of crimes that qualify for victim compensation. Stalking victims can get only emergency help to move or to make reasonable safety changes at home. They cannot get other types of compensation unless they were also victims of another listed crime.

Some crimes no longer get compensation

The law removes larceny from the person from the list of covered crimes. It also removes the named “crime against nature” and assault to commit it. If your injury came only from these crimes, you are not eligible for compensation.
