More student groups count in school grades

Beginning July 1, 2025, the Tennessee Department of Education must include more subgroup data in school letter grades. If it already collects, aggregates, and reports a group’s data, it cannot leave that group out. A group counts when it has at least 20 valid math or English language arts scores in one grade band. For high schools, the college and career readiness result must be included when the graduating class has 20 or more students. Families may see school grades change.
