Temporary dealer license relief for festival auctions
Beginning October 17, 2025, Tennessee waived motor vehicle dealer license requirements for buying or selling previously titled antique or unique vehicles. The auction had to be held with a motor vehicle festival at a municipal convention center. The center's county had to have 366,200 to 366,300 people, based on the 2020 federal census or a later census. Some festival proceeds had to go to a hospital neurological institute in the same county. The law set no donation amount or percentage. The exemption was repealed on October 22, 2025, and no longer applies.
