Earlier adoption leave for Tennessee state employees

If you are a Tennessee state employee adopting a minor, your family leave can start earlier. The law counts the time starting when you file the adoption petition and the child is first placed in your home. The placement must be under a court-ordered parental power of attorney, guardianship, or custodial order. The covered period runs until the court issues the final adoption order. This change is now in effect.
