Nurse practitioner collaboration survey and report

The law takes effect immediately. Within 90 days, the Board of Nursing must create a survey for nurse practitioners with a certificate of fitness. The survey asks each NP’s specialty, each collaborating doctor’s specialty, both main practice addresses, whether they share a site, and how many days per week the doctor is on site. The Board must send the survey every year by electronic means and include a link or instructions. It must send reminders at least every three months to people who have not finished it. By December 31 each year, the Board must send a de‑identified, grouped report to the Senate and House health committee chairs. The report includes response counts and rates, the share with same‑specialty collaborators, the share of doctors on site full time, and the average on‑site days for others. The Board may publish the report and must include any data gathered electronically. For this law, “specialty” means the NP’s nationally certified nursing field and the physician’s ABMS‑board‑certified medical field.
