Utility commissioners unpaid in select Tennessee county

Beginning July 1, 2025, utility district commissioners in any Tennessee county with a 2020 (or later) census population between 158,100 and 158,200 serve without pay. The board can adopt a resolution to pay a per-meeting stipend. Pay can cover no more than 12 meetings in a year, and cannot be more than $500 per meeting. Any per‑diem is paid by the utility district or local entity.
