Utility boards get training relief and reinstatement
Effective upon enactment, the law cuts certain training and continuing-education requirements for Tennessee utility board members and district commissioners from 12 to 6 hours. Commissioners who lost eligibility because they missed required training deadlines can seek reinstatement only after the affected term ends. The Tennessee Board of Utility Regulation must hold an informal hearing and may approve reinstatement with conditions. Any reinstatement order must require 12 hours of training and continuing education within one year of the order. The order also sets the date eligibility returns and may include other conditions.
