Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Fewer training hours for utility commissioners

Utility district commissioners and other covered utility board members must complete 6 hours of training, not 12. This lowers the time and likely cost to meet the rule. The change is in effect now.

Path to regain utility board eligibility

If you lost eligibility for missing training, you can petition the Tennessee Board of Utility Regulation to be reinstated. You must wait until the term when you missed the hours has ended. The Board holds an informal hearing and may reinstate you, and it will set an effective date. Any order must require you to complete 12 hours of training within one year, and the Board may add other terms.
