New review plan for virtual school materials
The law took effect upon becoming law. Tennessee's commission must develop a plan with the state education department for virtual schools run by local school districts. The plan must cover commission review of electronic textbooks and learning materials, followed by State Board of Education approval. If no new legislation is needed, the commission must put the plan in place by January 1, 2027. If legislation is needed, it must send the plan and recommended legislation to the General Assembly by that date.
