Beginning July 1, 2025, this law does not guarantee payment for contraception or fertility care. It does not require private insurance, Medicaid, or state programs to cover or reimburse these services. You may need to pay out of pocket.
Beginning July 1, 2025, you have the right to get and use contraception and fertility treatment in Tennessee. Health care providers have the right to give these services. The law defines contraception, contraceptives, and fertility treatment, including IVF, insemination, embryo testing, and related medicines. These protections apply even if another state law conflicts.
