Counties can end sheriff job protections

A county that earlier adopted the Sheriff's Civil Service Law can now undo it. It takes a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the county legislative body. This applies only to counties that adopted the law under subsection (a). If your county rescinds, sheriff's office employees there can lose civil-service job protections. The act takes effect upon becoming law.
