Beginning July 1, 2025, new payment rules apply to electronic monitoring for work release. If you are released for paid work, the sheriff deducts the device cost from your wages. The county or state then pays that amount directly to the device company. If you are released for unpaid work, the group using your labor must pay for the device. The law also removes the words "beginning January 1, 2024" from Section 41-2-152(a).
