Open records panel meetings easier and online

The law requires the Office of Open Records Counsel to help convene the Advisory Committee on Open Government. If the committee has not elected co-chairs and a majority asks in writing (including by email), the office picks the annual meeting date. The office reserves a room at the Comptroller of the Treasury’s offices. It posts meeting notices, agendas, and minutes on the Comptroller’s website. For meetings it facilitates, members must send agenda items at least 72 hours before, and the office builds the agenda. The office also provides a way to join electronically under section 8-44-108. This act takes effect upon becoming law.
