More investment flexibility for insurers

The law loosens investment rules for Tennessee-regulated insurance companies. It raises one cap from 1% to 20% and another from 5% to 10%. Insurers may invest in certain money market funds that meet federal Rule 2a-7 and the NAIC manual. Government funds must hold only U.S. government obligations or qualified repos; Class 1 funds must meet the bond Class 1 standard. The law takes effect upon becoming a law.
