Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee makes certain efforts to influence prediction-market outcomes a Class E felony. Prediction markets trade contracts based on whether future events happen. The offense requires acting to influence whether an event happens, with the goal of gaining money. The person or someone acting together with them must be a party to a traded prediction-market contract. The person must stand to gain money directly from that contract's settlement based on the event's outcome.
