Qualifying Tennessee agency rules stay active

This law took effect immediately and keeps qualifying permanent Tennessee agency rules from expiring on June 30, 2026. Rules must have been filed with the Secretary of State on or after January 1, 2025. They must have been in effect when this law took effect and scheduled to expire on June 30, 2026. They stay active until an agency amends or repeals them, or a later law replaces them. This protection does not preserve rules that conflict with laws other than the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act.

Three Tennessee charter application rules end

Three Tennessee Public Charter School Commission rules expired immediately when this law took effect, despite the general extension. All three were filed with the Secretary of State on November 26, 2025. Rule 1185-01-04-.01 covered submitting an initial application to replicate a charter school; Rule 1185-01-04-.02 covered its review. Rule 1185-01-04-.03 covered submitting and reviewing an amended replication application. The law does not specify replacement procedures.
