Higher minimum sentences for vehicular homicide

Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee sets a Range II sentencing minimum for qualifying vehicular homicide convictions under § 39-13-213(a)(2). The person must also be convicted under § 55-10-101 for the same course of conduct. Courts may impose a Range III sentence when appropriate, but cannot impose a sentence below Range II.
