The statewide planning and policy council now advises both the state department and TennCare. It also advises the commissioner and the TennCare director on funding to run TennCare waiver programs. The commissioner and the TennCare director must make some decisions together. These changes take effect immediately.
The TennCare long-term care director, or a designee, must serve on the statewide planning and policy council. The director also appoints one person from TennCare’s managed care contractors to the council.
