The statewide planning and policy council now advises both the Department and the Bureau of TennCare. The council must include the TennCare long‑term care director or a designee, and one representative from each TennCare managed care organization. The council advises the commissioner and the TennCare director on TennCare waivers, department programs, and appropriations for the Department and TennCare. Some actions now require both the commissioner and the TennCare director to act together. The law takes effect immediately.
