The Lower Colorado River Authority moves from the 2031 Sunset review cycle to the September 1, 2035 cycle. Reviews repeat every 12 years after 2035. The authority cannot be abolished under the Texas Sunset Act; these dates set its review schedule only.
The law moves the Texas Juvenile Justice Board and Department’s sunset date from September 1, 2027, to September 1, 2031. Both are abolished then unless continued under the Texas Sunset Act. This changes the agencies’ operating timeline, not household benefits or legal duties.
The State Office of Administrative Hearings moves from the 2027 Sunset review cycle to the 2031 cycle. Reviews repeat every 12 years after 2031. The office remains subject to review but cannot be abolished under the Texas Sunset Act.
The law conditionally moves the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners’ sunset from September 1, 2027, to September 1, 2033. This applies only if Senate Bill 2155 or similar legislation from the 2025 regular session becomes law. That separate legislation must cover veterinary regulation and temporary board administration by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. When this condition is met, the board is abolished in 2033 unless continued under the Texas Sunset Act.
The law moves the Texas Credit Union Department and Credit Union Commission’s sunset date from September 1, 2035, to September 1, 2031. Both agencies are abolished then unless continued under the Texas Sunset Act. This changes the timeline for agency oversight, not credit union members’ fees or benefits.
