Public infrastructure district boards meet locally, file reports

Beginning May 6, 2026, public infrastructure district boards must hold regular and special meetings inside the district. They may meet outside only if no district site can fit the board and expected public and the alternate is nearby, if an emergency makes an in‑district meeting not practicable, or if the site is within the creating entity’s boundaries. Each district must also file a yearly report with the creating entity that describes the district’s actions under its governing document. These rules improve local access and oversight. They do not change taxes or benefits for households.
