Cannabis pharmacy access rules also limit moves

Beginning May 6, 2026, Utah’s Department of Agriculture and Food must set at least four regions for medical cannabis pharmacies. Regional boundaries must be designed to reasonably maximize access for medical cannabis cardholders. The licensing board must use these regions when awarding pharmacy licenses to spread locations across the state. The board cannot approve a pharmacy’s request to move outside its current region.
