New official routes for State Routes 73, 85, 131

Beginning May 6, 2026, the law updates where these state highways run. State Route 73 runs from Route 36 near St. John Station to Route 85 and Route 145 in Saratoga Springs. It then continues east from 850 East in Lehi to Route 89. State Route 85 is the Mountain View Corridor from Route 73/145 in Saratoga Springs north to California Avenue in Salt Lake City. State Route 131 runs from Route 85 in Herriman along Porter Rockwell Boulevard to Route 140 in Bluffdale. These updates clarify state control and can change which segments the state maintains and signs.

New rule for Mountain View connection

Beginning May 6, 2026, the state sets a trigger for a new road link. When the highway that links Mountain View Corridor in Saratoga Springs to Cedar Valley Highway in Eagle Mountain is finished, the Utah Department of Transportation must ask the Legislature to add it to the state highway system. This supports smoother planning and better connections for local commuters and businesses once the link opens.
