New license path for foreign-trained chiropractors

Virginia now lets chiropractors trained outside the U.S. get a license by endorsement. You must have a chiropractic degree from a foreign school that is accredited in that country. You must either hold a current unrestricted foreign license from a jurisdiction the Board finds equivalent, or have previously held such a license that was not revoked, suspended, or restricted for discipline. You must have actively practiced at least two years. You must have no professional discipline, impairment, or criminal conviction that would risk patient safety. You must be legally allowed to live and work in the U.S. You must pass Parts I, II, and III of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners exams and the Special Purposes Examination for Chiropractic. The Virginia Board of Medicine decides if foreign education and licensing meet Virginia’s standards.
