Summary

Special license plates; Virginia REALTORS. Converts the existing non-revenue sharing special license plate for members of the Virginia Realtors to a revenue sharing special license plate with the revenue benefiting the Virginia REALTORS Disaster Relief Fund. The bill provides that such existing plates will remain valid until their expiration. This bill is identical to SB 204.

Special plates for certified public accountants

If you are a member of the Society of Certified Public Accountants, you can get a special DMV plate. You must apply and show written proof of membership. DMV issues the plate under the general specialty plate process.

Virginia REALTORS plates with $25 fee

If you are a member of Virginia REALTORS, you can get a special DMV plate. Apply, show written proof of membership, and pay the normal plate fee. The law also charges an extra $25 each year per plate. After the first 1,000 registrations, $15 of that $25 goes to a relief fund for Virginia disasters. The rest of the fees cover DMV costs. Plates issued before July 1, 2026 stay valid until they expire and can be renewed under the new rules.
