Virginia mirrors federal psilocybin scheduling

The Board of Pharmacy must match Virginia’s drug schedule to the federal schedule for any FDA‑approved psilocybin drug given by a health care professional in a health care setting. After the FDA approves such a drug and a federal order lists it in the Federal Register, the Board waits 30 days. The Board then reschedules that drug at its next quarterly meeting after the 30-day period, using state procedures. This applies only to that specific FDA‑approved formulation, not to all psilocybin products.
