No fracking or waste injection in groundwater areas

The law bans hydraulic fracturing and bioslurry injection in any well drilled through a groundwater management area. This applies only to areas declared by regulation before January 1, 2020. "Bioslurry injection" means putting agricultural waste, food waste, manure, paper sludge, or sewage sludge underground. "Hydraulic fracturing" means using pressurized fluids to crack rock to produce oil or natural gas. The ban protects groundwater and lowers contamination risk for people in those areas.
