2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

New funding for battery recycling

The state sets aside all money it receives for battery recycling in the environmental fund to run the program. The Department of Natural Resources uses these funds to collect and recycle batteries statewide. The law adds $150,000 to a DNR appropriation for fiscal year 2026–27. For the 2027–29 budget request, DNR must show the 2026–27 amount for this appropriation as $1,378,600 when it submits budget information.

Law void if related bills don't pass

This act is void if neither Assembly Bill 713 nor Senate Bill 702 is enacted in the 2025–26 session. If that happens, none of this law’s changes take effect. If at least one of those bills becomes law in that session, this act remains in force.
