Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 1 mixed.

Daily $1,000 limit on kiosk cash

You can only give or get up to $1,000 in cash across kiosks in one day. Operators must track your same‑day total. If a transaction would put you over $1,000, the kiosk must refuse it.

Licenses and spacing for crypto kiosks

To run a virtual currency kiosk, a business must be licensed. Before the first customer at a location, the operator must notify the local police or sheriff. A kiosk cannot be within five feet of an ATM and cannot also function as an ATM.

Stronger fraud rules at crypto kiosks

Before your first transaction, the operator must collect your name, birth date, phone, address, email, and a copy of your photo ID. For every transaction, the operator must verify your identity and take a photo of you. A large fraud warning must be on the kiosk front and on screen, and you must agree before continuing. You get paper and electronic receipts with fees, exchange rate, transaction hash, and contacts for help, plus live toll‑free support whenever kiosks run. If you report fraud to the operator and to the state DOJ, DFI, or police within 30 days and ask, the operator must refund the full amount, including fees.
