Wisconsin extends Medicaid coverage after pregnancy ends, subject to federal approval. The state health department must seek that approval. For most covered pathways, coverage lasts through the month containing day 365 after pregnancy, instead of day 60. You must qualify during pregnancy, with medical verification where required. Some recipients keep coverage even when family income changes. Women above 300% of the federal poverty line can qualify by committing or spending income above the applicable limit on family medical care, personal health insurance premiums, or both. This route covers all pregnant women in the family and continues through day 365, regardless of family income changes.
